They've got to do something to stay match fresh, vast majority of the squad aren't going to the World Cup.

Rumour is they are also going to a training camp (with match(es) in Turkey

Or inevitably in our case, they've got to do something to make sure a number of players pick up injuries that keep them out of the squad when the proper football resumes. Football has been crying out for years to have a mid-season break. Now that we have one, what do we do but organise pointless friendlies?

Well, it's rather a no-win situation. A season or two ago we praised them for 'hitting the ground running ' and started
the season with a couple of unexpected wins. Let's face if they resume looking rusty we'll b0110ck them for not sufficiently preparing.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

Mid season breaks are typically in Europe 2 weeks not over a month . The players will need games , they can either play them behind closed doors between themselves or against some different (I might add interesting ) opposition in front of the fans . makes sense to me .

Wil probably go and see this as a chance to play a few youngsters and maybe as it's December a few trialists too. I agree we may come out of it with some injuries but the positives for me outweigh the negatives.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Brazilians + Football + Palace = no brainer for me. Can't wait regardless of thoughts on timing, appropriateness etc.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
