The wild man Jerry Lee 'The Killer' Lewis has died aged 87. One of the original rockers whose flamboyant piano playing set him apart from other musicians of his generation who sparked the rock n roll era. Great Balls of Fire is one of the records on my jukebox that never gets replaced. Far too significant. RIP Jerry.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The comeback King ! "Jerry Lee Lewis has not died, contrary to media reports, one of his representatives has said. On 26 October, US publication TMZ claimed that the 87-year-old had died that day at home in Memphis. The outlet later issued an update, saying: “Earlier today we were told by someone claiming to be Lewis’ rep that he had passed. That turned out not to be the case.”

Bloke was a bit of a mess and only played 45 minutes, but he could still play the piano! Was an enjoyable evening regardless. Not the nicest person to have walked the planet though - shot his bassist, arrested outside Elvis's home with a gun and obviously the whole 13 year old cousing thing... Man could rock though!
