George Martin's little boy has spent a great deal of studio time playing around with all the tracks on The Beatles album Revolver to highlight some of the hidden features we may have missed first time around. The deluxe vinyl package is now available for £170, if you have some spare cash although you can hear the remastered tracks for free on Spotify and Prime Music. It's long been suggested that this was, not only, their finest studio album but the best album ever produced. I still think Sgt Pepper shades it for sheer inventiveness. Have you heard the remastered tracks? Would you pay a lot of hard earned cash to buy it? And, is Revolver the best album ever or a lot of hype?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I haven't heard it but it's hard to be objective about the Beatles. They just ARE and familiarity tends to take away from what they, and George Martin & Geoff Emerick, put out in the face of what must have been crushing public expectation. Their level of inventiveness and creativity can't be equalled.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

The 'Take That' of the 1960's. Haven't really bothered listening to any of their stuff. But I have Sgt. Peppers on CD , which is a very good album indeed, especially considering what limited technology they had, compared to today. Even by today's standards Sgt Peppers is a real masterpiece. [Link] In answer to Jimenez, I made out I didn't get them when they were in their pomp, preferring to listen to wierd stuff played by John Peel. But I always had a sneaking admiration for their songwriting. I appreciate them more now than when I was 16!
