So Man Utd at Selhurst- very different team from last game of last season coming to Sarf London

So does Patrick want to do the same tactics he chose against Liverpool or does he
Choose to go at them ? Shock & Awe ?

I’d like to see us take them full on - what would you do against a Utd whom are now buzzing with confidence?

Go for it! Start with Olise and Wilf on top, drop Schlupp!

Go for it. I won’t be popular for saying it but I would drop Eze and play a midfield three of Schlupp, Doucoure and Ayew which will allow Olise to play up top with Mateta and Zaha.

If you want to shoehorn Eze into this side then I would consider playing Zaha at CF. Hughes could also come in for Schlupp.

If my memory serves me correctly Vieira hasn’t really used 5 at the back in home games.
United still look like a collection of individuals rather than a coordinated team at this stage and Arsenal dominated the game yesterday. United caught them on the break.
I would be inclined to go the offensive targeting their back four which has not settled down yet containing two new players.
Erickson still looks a good player controlling the tempo of the game with an extensive passing range.
The trend these days, however, is not to mark man to man.

In all honesty I would rather we stick to the style we have cultured, having plans up our sleeve and utilising both when best appropriate and effectively.

I understand PV wanting us to be adaptable but it seems very negative and indescribably disastrous for us to be taking leads then dropping points like their hot as some sort of shambolic, complete antithesis game plan is installed mid-game. I get the thinking behind it but it hasn't worked. Stick to what we do best and tweak it, don't try and transform immediately mid-game only to constantly throw away leads.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

10 behind the ball and Ayew on his lonesome up front chasing down everything. It's a tactic.

I maintain this is my subjective opinion on our best starting XI as things stand.

GK: Guaita

LB: Mitchell
CB: Andersen
CB: Guehi
RB: Clyne (I think Ward is looking much better of late though)

CM: Doucoure
CM: Hughes
CAM: Eze

LW: Zaha
CF: Mateta
RW: Olise

I'd like to see a fit and firing JMac in the midfield for Hughes, Schlupp utilised as an impact player or when necessary and I'd like to see more of Ebiowei. Rest of the squad used as and when necessary of course.

This in my opinion is the best line up and formation that we have, i dont like three at the back, but i dont think we have a CF that is good enough to play 4-3-3

Would this rely upon Andersen hitting long balls for Zaha and Olise the chase in behind? Can't see either playing with their backs to goal. And Eze will be isolated, drifting around more so than he usually does.

No, it will be passing through a 5-man midfield and getting Eze receiving the ball in the last third to create, with the occasional Crossfield ball by Andersen to the wings
