I loved the Sandbaggers. A couple of years ago I wondered why it wasn't being repeated on one of the cable channels. From what I can remember there is a problem with the TV rights, at one time Roy Marsden (Burnside) owned them and then it got messy.

This is not unusual A cousin appeared in a number of Dick Emery (1970s) shows, for some reason there is a problem with those rights as well. They have not been repeated for decades. Of course it is now further complicated that they are no longer PC.

Dave Allen's great shows cannot be repeated more than once as he inserted a clause in the rights. Such a pity.

The Sandbaggers is available on DVD - it also starred Ray Lonnen who was in Harry's Game and was married to Lynn Dalby who was Hazel in Budgie.

Hancock's Half Hour
Alfred Hitchcock Presents
Till Death Us Do Part
Gideon's Way
MASH
Private Eye
Van der Valk (original version)
Dixon Of Dock Green
Juke Box Jury
Ready, Steady, Go!

Blimey, there were so many good programmes. Today's TV is appalling in comparison.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I've got no idea why Till Death Us Do Part isn't repeated these days, or Love Thy Neighbour for that matter.

Rumpole of the Bailey

The Phil Silvers Show (usually referred to as Bilko) - you'd need to be well into your seventies to remember it.

Anyone remember’The Tomorrow People’ ? I watched a couple on YouTube not so long, a bit clunky now as most 1970’s tv seems, but I loved it back in the day and was quite haunting and eerie for children’s TV
