On his day he is impressive. Hasn't been given the best chance at Chelsea. He has just been released of his contract and is now on a free. Surely seeing we need a CM there is very little risk involved in snapping him up for nothing. Can't imagine his wages would break the bank and I'm sure he will be willing to lower is demands to get straight back on the field for this season.

I read somewhere only a couple of days ago that his contract at Chelsea was paying him £200,000 per week (unless I wasnt paying enough attention) Now I can see him lowering his wage demands a bit but its a long way down from £200,000 to something nearer to a level that we would be interested in paying -

I think he would be great. £100 per week + LV's and free bus travel.

Barkley will probably bide his time to see which Premier League club loses their nerve first to offer him six figures a week. That club should not be Palace. It doesn't fit with our new wage model.
I ain't got nuthin' funny to say. Sorry. |

I totally agree. I didn't realise he was on that much. He is good but he is not £200k good.

If he’s released from his contract the £200k is irrelevant. Nonetheless not sure he’d bring anything even at £50k. Villa, Nottingham Forest or back to Everton.

The Chelsea wage list shows him at £96k/week.

Call me Crazy, but I'd rather have Gnarls Barkley.
