At times I take pleasure in reading the woes of the mighty like Manchester Utd.Throughout the years they have become more arrogant with the belief they should Where does it end with the Damned Utd of the premiere league ? Keep buying players until they win ? Don’t stop until they win ? United no more with supporters / players / coach / media

I especially like the dross that United are now linked with and top players turning them down they know it's a basket case of a club. Meanwhile the owners keep taking money out of the club. If the current manager can turn this lot around he really will be a top manager.

Man U have become undone by the amount of money in the game now. They were long the 'big boys', often buying the best players from 'smaller' clubs but now there are now numerous competitors in that market hence their panicked attempts to keep in that game and their subsequent failures in this paradigm shift. Not an intelligent diagnosis by any means just my opinion. I, for one, am loving it. The ubiquitous Man U fan and shirt is becoming less and less visible these days (London/SE) and I take particular joy from those ever so typical glory-hunters now who have failed even in that most ignoble of ventures.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Manure's next door neighbours, the bbc, are doing everything they possibly can to keep Utd in the public eye. No matter what or who their football page is about, they work Utd into every thread/column. Must be the air in Salford.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

An amusing letter in The Times today from a reader commenting about the widespread universe of their 'supporters'. He quoted a joke - it takes 3 men to change a lightbulb at Old Trafford, 1 to change the bulb, 1 to hold the ladder and the 3rd to drive the other 2 back to Guildford.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
