This is actually being discussed and possibly considered to be done in parts of the EU.

Looks like rapidly increasing our population was a bad idea after all. Who could have predicted that? We will eventually get rationing of water, electricity and more with or without Russia. The elites want to control us with predictable tactics. Isn't this becoming obvious to people yet?

Suspect the Euro is going to come under immense pressure. What with German industrial output falling, and the impact of that on exports which underpins the entire single currency project, due to gas shortages/prices and a right-wing anti-EU Italian Government waiting in the wings to take centre stage, with their policy of effectively introducing Italian only 'Euros', then I reckon the Euro is going to be in serious trouble.

I think the war matters rather a lot. However, I also agree with comments on the green agenda and the WEF's agenda generally. The elites never suffer it's always the vulnerable who have to pay the price for their mistakes and/or social engineering. Edited by Stirlingsays (25 Jul 2022 10.16am)

The euro will be in a much better place without Italy's mega debts. However, the whole project will be under increasing pressure - particularly from so called 'populist' parties. The cost of living crises of the past brought this about before and will again.

The cost of living crises of the past brought this about before and will again. My understanding of the Italian Euro plan, and more than happy to be put right, is not that Italy would leave the Euro but rather they would issue their own, which could be only used within Italy. Let's say you are an Italian owed a tax rebate from your Government. Rather than that being paid to you in conventional Euro's, it would be paid instead by Italian Euro's, printed in Italy. I would assume a law would be passed requiring people to take these for payment and it would enable Rome to effectively print money/issue bonds of its own, rather than having to go through the central European Bank in Frankfurt. The issue then for primarily Germany is that more Euro's are in circulation and they lose control of the money supply, which in turn could mean the Euro being devalued. Now, in and of itself, not a bad thing on one hand because it helps with the export market but this was not how the single currency project was meant to operate and is a direct challenge to the entire notion., And more than happy to be corrected on this.

They may have that plan - I haven't looked into it. Ze Germans won't let them do it without a lot of trouble - or at all in my opinion. There's no actual stepping out of line in the EU and keeping the perks. Unless you're France.
