He played great golf, a little unlucky with the putts, but for me the tactics were all wrong. He and Hollander played a o defend from each other and completely overlooked the two seriously, good player coming up on the outside rail. Rory should have gone for it from the 12th onwards. Shame but will played Cameron's.

Isn't the way to play 'medal' golf to go round in as few strokes as possible?

it's pure and simple for McIroy yesterday. He missed his putts.
The amount of times that he missed by less that 2 inches was incredible. Normally he'd be sinking 2 or 3 of them at least - then he would have won.

What a round by Cameron Smith though. just goes to show how important to a good score putting is.

Thought Caroline Wozniaki taught him that.

maybe if Rory got a mullet hairdo like the winner that would help his self confidence, and a wispy bumfluff moustache too, and maybe change his name from Rory to Shane, and take in a rescue kangaroo or koala bear.

Rory didn't do much wrong. Golf is the finest of fine margins. If a couple of his putts over the 72 holes dropped and Cam Smiths didn't, we'd have had a different champ.

His tactics were fine. Whilst you're leading it's yours to loose so no need to take risks - you leave that to the chasing pack. There's a different mentality when you're chasing and you've just got to give credit to Smith as his putter was red hot. His up and down on 17 for par was the clincher.
