I really miss the days when every flight had a hot meal provided with a cup of tea, now it's overpriced snacks. Recently on a short haul Tui flight £5 for a cheese ploughmans snack box which was two cream crackers a small bag of mini cheddars a tiny piece of cheese and small pot of branston pickle. That was the only food they had left after all sandwiches And toasties had sold out

What do you expect from a budget airline? They have to make money somehow.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

I roll my eyes when I have heard cabin crew announcing that certain food needs to be "Cooked" or words to that effect.Darned heated up that's all. I have heard of passengers who purchase food at the Gatwick outlets (Pret a Manger etc) and consume it on the flight.

We tend to buy baguettes from one of the shops in the airport and eat them on the plane. Even that is expensive compared to buying something similar from Sainsbury to take with you or even making something yourself before leaving home

It always staggers me that people can't survive a short flight (or football match or cinema movie) without having to eat and drink something.

I had a 9.30am flight to Morocco arrived at airport at 6am got up at 4.30 so wasn't going to eat then. It took 2 hours to check in and get through security had a very rushed breakfast they called our flight as the food arrived. On the plane BA announced no food available (unless you had pre booked online) apart from a tiny packet of crisps. Passengers were upset as most had no time to eat prior to boarding and it would be lunchtime when we arrived. I take your point I think as long as you have time to eat at the airport it's not a problem. The airlines also need to make it clear when buying your ticket what the food situation is. I now assume no food available on the plane so either I bring it myself or buy at the airport.

We have a four hour flight on Monday departing at 7:00am. We need to be at the airport at 5:00am which is a half hour drive from home so it means getting up before 3:00am and I can't eat at that time of the morning. The pilot and cabin crew also tell you to enjoy the flight but I find nothing about flying to be enjoyable and eating on board helps to pass the time. Additionally for the last two years one has had to wear a mask on board a plane unless eating or drinking which makes another reason why people want to eat on flights

I was about to bring up some of your points badger, because of massive long queues at airports and delays most of the food outlets in the airport are rammed with passengers or very low on stock, 3 weeks ago at Birmingham They had sold out of sandwiches and with it being summer and very warm you can't refrigerate and keep sandwiches cold to bring from home especially if you got a long car journey to the airport.

The queues to buy any food where you sit down are too long and there’s just too many people in general. Although there is a sit at the bar place just to the left as soon as you walk in that I don’t think had queues. What about paying for a lounge and loading up on food and drink there?
