Interesting results from our friends across the channel. Macron loses his majority, in the face of predictions after his re-election that he would gain more. A Left-Wing coalition pull in 131 seats Le Pen leaps from 8 to 89 seats and is now Frances's main Right-Wing political party as the Republicans are reduced to 61. Still difficult to ascertain any real lessons give the hype at the moment but potentially some serious ramifications for Macron and what he can get done.

Macron will have to compromise a bit but that's not a bad thing, would we had the same here. He has 5 years I think this is massively over-cooked.

Ha! a seriously important result for the political scene in Europe and... 5 posts! I cant say I blame the other HOLers. "French politics" is a title that doesn't draw flies. Perhaps "Brigitte Bardot's knickers". We would already be on page 200...

It’s definitely a good result as the big gains were from populists (anti globalists) from the left and the right. We are going to see a lot, lot more of this.
