Weds bin day and I’m glad no 17 are on the ball. I can never remember which one has to go out. I’ve seen carnage when they go on holiday.

I have a simple method - I am able to store both bins together but the one that needs to go out that week I keep nearest the road, so when that has been emptied I return it to the bin place but swap them over so the other one is nearest the road -

They come in handy with such things. Ours get collected alternately once a week, so an individual bin every fortnight. Given my memory by the Thursday struggles to differentiate between the Monday and Tuesday that week, 'twas always going to be fruitless endeavour trying to remember!
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Anyone else get a bit lost when the ones in the know aren’t about Our council hand out a bin collection calendar every January which I promptly lost. I find it quite easy to know which bins have to go out as one will be full and the other empty

What a wierd thread you started here cryrst. However, it achieved it's objective and caught my attention. My system is similar to Dubai's, in that I move the newly emptied bin(s) to the end of the row nearest the water butt.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Everyone except the guy over the road (A Latvian), has different bins to me. However, although mine are slightly more expensive, they take them all at once - every two weeks. A bummer if you miss them, particularly the food one. After a month it's mainly a bin of maggots. I sometimes hear the bin men wretching in the morning when it happens. Not a pleasant sight.

As we’re neighbours I was going to ask you to put mine out, but I’d better ask mrs Nicholas91

I live in Bromley so I just google Bromley waste collection days and it comes up with a website that tells me what is due that week when I put my address in.
