I remember the scene in Hannibal where his sleazy FBI agent character was drugged and had a section of his brain fed to him by Anthony Hopkins. I was 17 and nearly everyone in the cinema audience collectively gasped in revulsion at that scene. Really sad news.

the mark of a truly great actor is that you believe they really ARE those characters. i always imagine Liotta as the junky in the second half of Goodfellas. It was the first thing i thought of for his premature death. RiP GoodFella

Fantastic in Goodfellas... weirdly last recall seeing him in an Ed Sheeran video [Link] He even managed to be stand-out in that. A real presence and talent. RIP.
