I don't know about you, but I'm feeling more gloomy this year than usual at the end of a season, now it's ended.

I think it has to do with the fact that we've seen our team play some fantastic football and it promises to only get better. I don't like to wish time away, especially at my age, but I can't wait for the start of next season. I'm certain it's going to be a good'un.

In the interim, let's hope Dougie and team do some cracking deals in the transfer market.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I agree. For the first time in years the future is exciting and the weeks until the new season starts will be long. Itching to get started again.

Cricket can't fill the gap this year...

Can it any year? (unless perhaps when it's the Ashes).
(Im)patiently waiting for the transfer window to open but still more than 2 weeks away!

We can at least follow the burgeoning international careers of Guehi and Gallagher and, possibly, Mitchell.

Plus the transfer gossip columns - I shall be alert for any mention
of a midfield general which has for many years been a desperate need but are also like gold-dust and likely to be very expensive.

I immediate hope is we can persuade the available Christian Eriksen to join us as I consider him the 'missing link' in our team.

Doubtless there will be wild speculations and, probably, ultimate disappointment but it at least a salve for the 'end of season blues'

Absolutely POG!

Championship Play off final, Champions League final to come, and no doubt a few weeks of grabbing any friendlies/Intl's that might be aired!

You'd think one would get used to it, especially with plenty of Palace losses on the first day! I actually recall a few seasons ago when we lost first what was it, 7 games before the Chelsea 2-1, and thinking for a while I'd wished the season never started!

|At least I'll be able to catch up on whatever my wife and family have been up to last 8 months or so!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It can for me. I'm old fashioned - footie in the winter and cricket in the summer
