Seems ominous. I know they froze wheat exports some months ago but this is an unusual move.

It'll be interesting to see what this amounts to.

Chinese & Russian aircraft were carrying out exercises near South Korea & some reports suggest they did in fact enter South Korean airspace

Russian state media talking up transitioning the RU economy/industry into a wartime one.

Were in a recession bordering depression.

I personally think we have less than 5 years until WW3

Unless a leader is mad enough to be fine with whole countries (including their own) being completely levelled I'm not so sure.. and 'if' a leader is comfortable with that then we're all doomed anyway no matter our approach and there's very little we could or can do about it.

Orban has repeatedly in the past declared situations 'emergencies' in order to gift himself more power, amend the constitution for his own purposes, circumvent parliament, erode the power of judges, muzzle the free press. You won't see those who like him ever highlight this, as 'freedoms' are only a principle to them when they view themselves as on the back foot rather than others. I'd read very little into this decision here. It's more about his own agenda than preparing for war.

It certainly is. To be honest, it's making me shudder. Everything seems so disjointed and making little or no sense unless you believe it is all deliberate to create mayhem for seemingly no discernable reason.

Yeah but no mean tweets.

The adults are back in the WH apparently.

Shame the adults can't run an economy nor display competence.....the Taliban probably won't have to buy military equipment for about ten years.

I don't think it is deliberate over the reality of lower quality elites.

Elites have always been machiavellian.....but when you think of a highly intelligent leader like Nixon or even Kennedy and compare them to the people running top institutions now.....I think there is an obvious societal decline.

The brightest minds aren't getting to the most important positions in the same numbers....or probably even entering those professions.

I know what it's about, it's war against the EU.

Wars are all the rage.

Surely we can think of an excuse to invade someone somewhere.

I think this is more about economic protectionism than preparing for war.

Things that used to be exported will now be kept. eg. Wheat. Which I believe they have already done.

The airspace situation is of concern. Its a game of cat and mouse.

The UK won't/can't not respond if our airspace is breached.

Russian Bear Bombers carry a huge nuclear payload. Enough to wipe out western Europe.

All this bull about posting nuclear weapons on boarders is just crap. They go up first then split into multiple warheads.

Cruise missiles do under radar as they fly low. But in the event of one of the looney's pressing the button they would need to take out all of the oppositions launch pads. And as some are under water in subs that's pretty impossible.

A unilateral attack would result in a nuclear winter anyway which would kill 98/99% of life on earth. It would almost certainly throw us into an ice age as well.

Wonder if all those CND loonies still think it would be a good idea to get rid of ours!
