What a career..

I'm sure he has retired before.. Looking back, I think he was one of our best managers.

All the best for his retirement...

I liked him and his no nonsense approach. He always talks fondly about his time(s) with us.

There will be many quotes of his bandied about, but the most relevant for us at the moment is "Matches don't come any bigger than FA Cup quarter-finals".

Enjoy your retirement in Cornwall Neil.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

His first stint at Palace was, according to Neil, going to be his last in football management.

He never knowingly let us down and I wish him all the best. Quite a character, one of the old school now and so much more interesting than the new, sanitised managers.

Didn't he say that when he died. Instead of a one minute round of applause that he'd rather have one minute of 'Warnock is a w***er'

"I remember the day when they sold Brian Deane and Jan Aage Fjortoft. It was like when President Kennedy got shot."

Haha how ridiculous.

He will be much missed imo I had a lot of time for him.

My favourite one was when he was with us. He offered Fonte £15 if he kicked the ball out to give the oppo a goal kick - all to stop him from playing out from defence!

Colin says he will retire. Promises promises.

Always welcome back at selhurst Neil. Anybody got that newspaper article ? "Football's most argumentative manager"

I always remember a fes games into his first spell we were 1-0 down at home to QPR and drew 1-1. Warnock described his half time team talk as "they know what I'm like now ... it's got to hurt". Clinton Morrison said he just kept his head down when Warnock went mad bcos he didn't know what was coming next. Must have been truly terrifying, but great man management according to Morrison. We went on a run and got to the playoffs and that bollocking was what started it.

I was once informed that Neil Warnock was known to give his players a few days off if they were winning but it was a different story if they were losing.

A respected manager with a record 8 promotions to his name.I wish him a very happy retirement.

Performed a minor miracle turning us from relegation fodder to a play off team. We were in a bit of a mess when he took over, but he ousted a couple of the pretty boys from the team and those that weren’t up for the scrap, brought in a couple of players who were up for the fight and it turned into an enjoyable season with only Ben watsons penalty miss keeping us from another play off final.

Deserves all the plaudits. Games will seem a little duller without his insightful comments
