With only 10 or hopefully 11 games to come now is the time for PV to keep his word on Rak-Sakyi and give him game time especially with the possible injuries to Olise and Wilf, 14 goal and 5 assists and i think 2/3 league player of the month awards he has certainly earned his chance.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Did he get it in writing ?

Im also quite passionate about seeing our juniors come through to the first team . He will get his chance sooner or later and give PV plenty of options going forward

If Zaha and Olise are missing for Arsenal then I'd be surprised if Rak-Sakyi doesn't make the bench. If he gets on the pitch he needs to take his chance as he might not get many. Your thread titles are a touch bombastic though, I mean, did Vieira actually promise JRS game time? Given our results and performances I don't think PV needs to do much more, even though we all enjoy seeing the young players get a chance (like Tayo did recently).

Perhaps if your going to start a thread with such an inflammatory heading / statement it would be a good idea to include a link to the original video / statement to support it -

I saw the spelling mistake and baiting-nature of the title and just knew who this was. Such a naive and immature attitude, and one which assumes your opinion is more valid than that of the manager. Vieira personally knows all those in the club, he devotes his daily working life to nurturing the development of the team, he is held accountable for performances and results. He lives and breathes amongst the detail of CPFC. His opinion is infinitely more valid than yours. In comparison you have zero credibility. You're also not held to account with the decisions you make, whereas Vieira is. You can express your naive opinion as a statement of fact, without any consequence. Whereas Vieira actually has to pick the side.

Why the f***, would Viera NOT pick the best players available?

If and when he is ready, and the environment is right, he will play.

There was a time not so long ago, which is now easily forgotten, where a young Jadon Sancho joined Dortmund and played every week. A young Phil Foden stayed at City, with the manager unwilling to play him, or send him out on loan. In short, one played, one didn't. At the time it looked like Sancho was excelling while Foden stagnated. In 2022, while Sancho has struggled a bit at Man U, overall it's fair to say that they're both going in the right direction, having taken different paths, with Foden certainly the one in the lead at present.

The path to reaching maturity and fulfilling potential is not straightforward, but you can guarantee that everyone involved wants them to succeed.

Interesting comparison on Foden and Sancho.

Playing youth team/going out on loan/first team squad...the one thing we know is that PV is willing to trust the kids and develop them.

So its only fair that we trust him on JRS

I don't like this thread. Apart from the mis-spelling, it suggests that PV has, somehow, failed in his commitment to our club.

Sure, he promised to lower the age of the squad and he has done that. I don't recall any specific player's names being mentioned.

I would love to see some of our younger players make the first team, we certainly have some fine talent coming through. I am confident that our manager, who has proved himself to be both very competent and popular, will use his experience to judge when to introduce them.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
