Couldn't help thinking this kid milked this but I guess he will have learned it from modern footballers.

The video is kind of hilarious if you get to see it.

Gascoigne is just a washed-up alcoholic idiot who clearly doesn't know his arse from his elbow. Yeah, no doubt the kid milked it. But it just wasn't funny. If he thinks it was, then he's living in an alternative universe (which he is). What kind of idiot thinks tripping a ballboy is a good way to mug to the crowd? At this point the only word to describe Gazza is pathetic. He's best ignored and not even invited to these sorts of public things since he's obviously incapable of distinguishing what's funny from what's totally risible behaviour. Just a very sad thing to watch. Embarrassing, really.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I'm amazed the bloke is still alive to be honest. You're right he doesn't help himself, though I feel a little sorry for where his alcoholism has taken him. Can't be easy for those around him trying their best to keep him on the right track.

Such a shame, because he was a genius in his prime, he’s in my all time best England eleven that’s for sure

Yeah, it was spellbinding to watch him play at times.

Story going round that the kid is the son of his agent, and they have a relationship which involves a lot of pranking and messing around.. the video is just an extension of that, hence the OTT reaction from the kid.

It seems logical.

I always find the Gascoigne situation more sad than anything - a phenomenally talented bloke who's clearly got more demons than he can deal with.

it's very easy to look from a distance, point fingers, say haha, mock, judge, demonise etc. but my knowledge of the man has failed to find any real malevolence in him. Was a fantastic footballer, possibly ahead of his time who has battled many demons in his personal life (someone mentioned earlier neing shocked he's still alive, ditto!) but that doesn't warrant besmirching his name or condemnation nor pity to a certain extent. The fact a person is fallible should not be a shock to anybody. He bought joy to many, still seeks to from evidence, and I personally wish him, and those around him, all the best for the future.

Just on an added note, I gladly bought a Gazza T-shirt, red with a popularised 'Che Guevara' type portrait of him on it, and wore it proudly during the Euros and plan to do so in the future!!

when gazza was at spurs, its well known he gave up a lot of his personal time to inter act, play footy, act the goat etc with groups of under privelaged kids at the training ground.
always stayed on when other stars had done their obligatory 5 mins & often brought a load of spurs merchandise to hand out, bought by himself.
certainly not all bad.

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.
