Having looked at the fixtures I have to say Everton look doomed. Their remaining fixtures are a nightmare for any team trying to get out of the mire.

Home : Man Utd, CPFC, Leicester, Chelsea, Brentford Yep on the face of it it looks much tougher than Burnley - their most likely contenders. That said there is an amazing fixture pile up generally and April could see something topsy turvy especially with mass rotation on the horizon. It doesn't take much for momentum to change massively with 2 games a week every week more or less.

You reap what you sew. Some clubs cancelled games earlier in the season due to COVID and injuries. In some cases it smacked of gamesmanship, at the time I though this may come back to bite you. I have no sympathy for teams that now have a fixture pile up. Edited by Badger11 (22 Mar 2022 7.34am)

Everton do look to be fudged. I honestly thought they'd give us a game at Selhurst Park but from what I did see, it looks very worrying for them. I missed the first 20 mins or so as I had a hospital appointment, I met my old man after the first 20 who said to me 'they're all over us' to which I replied 'that won't last, surely?'. We scored a few minutes after I got to the house. They didn't look to have any leaders on the pitch, no cohesion within the team and am I the only one who thought they had the ball in good positions on a few occasions and literally ended up doing nothing with it? I think the owners, players, fans and tubby himself were thinking 'yeah this season is going badly, but there's no way we are going down'. I also think Frank thought the job was a pretty safe bet: Team itself not likely to be relegated, money at the club, already doing very badly, any small achievements will be a success etc. Rookie manager who's heart isn't in it, ownership who don't have a Danny La Rue, players looking lost and uncommitted and unrest with the fans. All bodes badly for them and I'd happily see them go down ahead of the likes of Burnley and co. Norwich, Watford and Everton for my two cents, I'd be very happy with that! The 8 teams below us have picked up a combined 32 points in their last 5 games, 40 in total. 8 teams, 32 points from last 40 games, and us 12 points clear of the relegation zone. That's a nice thought.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Everton probably only need three wins to stay up but I think that Lampard's comments after the game were very destructive.

During Lampard's time at Everton they have only conceded 2 goals in 4 Home PL games and they will be heartened by their recent 1-0 win over Newcastle.Perhaps a vociferous Goodison crowd will see them over the line.

Yes I am still actively choosing to believe they will go down whilst it remains a possibility as opposed to strenuously defending it as an informed opinion. Frank's comments to me did stink somewhat of 'I'll start getting the excuses in now, so if/when it does happen it'll lessen the hype around me and the event'. Almost in the realms of 'I told you, but you didn't listen to me did you?'.

The crowd could also be the opposite if they go behind. The games v those down the bottom are the key to survival. They have two away one at home.
