There have been some letters in the paper recently from folk who have walked out before the end of the film and their reasons why.

A woman today said she left before 'Once Upon A Time In Hollywood' ended because it became too violent. Don't know what she expected from a Tarantino film about the Charles Manson murders. I watched Brief Encounter, again, last night and they went to a film and left early. But we know what they had in mind.

These days I often go to bed before a film has ended, but I can't recall ever leaving a cinema early. Although, in olden days, before timed showings, it wasn't unusual to miss the start of the film and wait to see it again up to the point you came in. Then leave. Does that count?

Anyway, have any of you ever left the cinema before a film ended? What and why?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I didn't but I recently took 2 lady friends to see the latest Wes Anderson movie about the newspaper in small town France. *

They left with about 40 mins to go I was tempted to join them but decided to battle it out to the end.

It didn't get any better.

*They are well educated and like thoughtful movies, all of us are fans of Wes Anderson but not this time.

The family dragged me to see ‘Dolittle’ just before covid kicked in a couple of years ago, and believe me, if it wasn’t for them getting home after in the dark on their own, I would’ve walked out long before the end

Many years ago it became apparent during the film that I was on a promise and rather than watch the film - we left and great fun was had by all involved.
Much more fun than the film that's for sure

You mean "Don't know what she expected from a Tarantino film about anything"

I can watch most violence but must admit that the scene with the razor in Reservoir Dogs had me feeling a bit queasy

You cant just post & leave us all hanging like that, it's cruel. We need details/pics/names, anything! C'mon Dolphin, do what's right in true HOL fashion, you know it makes sense.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

It’s such an iconic scene now as well, it’s hard not to think of it every time I hear ‘stuck in the middle with you’

I concur. He can start by letting us know how it became apparent he was on a promise!

I walked out of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. It was so bad I couldn’t cope with watching another minute so I went to the nearest pub and left my (now) ex-wife in the cinema on her own.

The end is some of the best cinema ever.

Shame, I think it's Tarintino's best movie.
