Anyone think we should make an offer in the summer? It looks like Chelsea would be prepared to sell him particularly if they take Gallagher back. He arguably played some of his best football at Palace and got in England squad. I sometimes wonder if he looks a bit heavy and ponderous but maybe I’m being unfair. Although only 26 he seems to have been around for ages and has the experience and obvious talent our squad needs. Edited by NE14T (19 Feb 2022 2.33pm)

I think we should certainly see what Chelsea would want for him. He's a tidy footballer in a big guy's body. Only issue would be where would we play him. Is he a centre mid? Is he a wide forward? I'm not really sure

According to Wiki he is 26 now so at that age he really does need to settle down with a club that he can play for regularly or the rest of his career will disappear fast.

It's not spelt 'a club' it's spelt 'Crystal Palace' Just my opinion but I'd have him back in a heartbeat. There is a very good footballer there, one who deserves more than a bit part in a squad. If the price was right I would want him at Palace , we can never have enough quality in our midfield , and he would be a big addition to the overall quality of Palace as a team. We probably won’t have Gallagher,next year Jimmy Mac, can not do a full season now. In fact looking at age , and contract situations of the rest of our recognised midfield it could be we will need more than one addition Loftus Cheek would be great as one of any additions.

Think of it this way. Would he improve the squad? Yes is the answer, considering Luka, Riedewald, Jimmy Mac's age and Gallagher going back, not to mention Kouyate (who I think we should renew due to his versatility).

Are we sure Gallagher is returning to Chelsea? Seems they are interested in our new England back, why not Mitchell for Conor G. We have that young kid Adarmola(?) to play left-back.
