This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Everyone round here (possibly the most inland you could get) is s***ting themselves. Someone posted on the local Facebook group that the secondary school would be closed today, and someone else replied: "Thank God!" I've just got back from my usual 1 hour walk with the dogs and I saw not one other dog walker; usually there are loads. Yes it's a bit windy, but seriously! Shortly I'll be leaving to start my day's work as a supermarket delivery driver, as those people cowering in their homes will not be expecting me to do likewise. Edited by YT (18 Feb 2022 9.01am)

On the edge of the red area in Somerset. Shops, schools and library closed in the village, Doctors cancelled all appointments(on advice) to stop people travelling. Tesco have cancelled/postponed deliveries this morning. Actually got up to a lovely, bright sunny day with a stiff (Very actually) breeze. Now something like storm force winds and the rain is making it seem worse Still, should be over (the worst anyway) by lunchtime, so I can go and rescue the bits of back fence from all over the garden.....
A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers |
