3 world heritage sites in 5 minutes walking distance of each other. Seville has some great ancient stuff and modern buildings as well. I really liked it the couple of days I spent there. Go to a flamenco club.

I’ll be watching in Tenerife. 10 bars within walking distance from home. I’ll probably drop into most of them. Zero heritage however they do have ice cold cider on tap and I can guarantee that by game end I will be hammered

Loads of oranges on the trees at the moment, everywhere you look. I was based right next to Sergio Ramos' house. Couldn't see much but it really smelled of horses and had its own floodlit football pitch. Went to see Seville centre on our day off which was fantastic, only saw Plaza de Espana and the Plaza de Toros which were both just brilliant. Got a sun tan too, would certainly go again

Back in the day Seville would have been packed with horses and the sewage wasn't great so it stunk, somebody had the bright idea to grow orange trees to cover the smell. The original Seville orange was too bitter to eat so were not harvested and just allowed to drop to the ground to be eaten by the animals. I believe it was a Scottish lady who realised the cheapness of the fruit and that if you added sugar and turned it into a jam it was edible, hence marmalade. These days the growers have toned down the bitterness of Seville oranges so they are now the mainstay of any supermarket. Edited by Badger11 (10 Feb 2022 4.05pm)

The oranges we were given were really sweet and juicy. My mates picked them off the trees in the village, not sure if they ate them yet and whether they also were sweet. There are even more olive trees there. Some amazing farm houses.

Yup the benefits of a 2 day guided tour of Seville. I think once the Spanish realised the Brits were buying their oranges for marmalade somebody decided to cross breed to make them edible so the Seville orange of today is not the same as say 200 years ago. Sounds like you missed out on these they were fantastic
