Sad news, but he had a good, long life. Guess Who's Coming To Dinner was a breakthrough film in so many ways.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Great actor of the fifties and sixties. Sadly from the seventies onwards he chose to do lightweight stuff most of which was rubbish, perhaps because he was tired of being an icon for his people who knows! RIP

A decent actor who starred in a couple of race themed films. The Russians are sabre rattling at the Ukraine border and this was the headline on ITV 10pm news. ITN really are miles above parody. The woke brigade need to be exorcized and soon.

I have every respect for Mr Potier as a actor, which is how almost everyone knows him, just not for those that control ITN.

Since this thread is in itself an announcement of his death, I'd have thought that most reasonable people would see this as the right place to post about its announcement on one of the two major free news networks.

If you want a thread where you seek a roundabout way to diminish and slag off black blokes even when they've passed on, I suggest you start one. Ever expressed anger on here regarding the prominence of news when a famous white actor passed? No, I thought not. Thanks for feeling so passionate about how this particularly death is perceived though. Very worthwhile.

It is quite clearly the media who are race obsessed, which in case you missed it, as you usually do, is the point I am making. This is just another example. As I said previously. Deaths of famous white actors have very obviously been headlines, front pages, the whole deal. You however have no angle to push there and so it's not something you notice or care about.
