However, in relation to the rules between the countries I think the negative test result difference is a pretty massive difference don't you? I do personally.

While I think these restrictions are nuts I think asking for a negative test result is fair enough in certain circumstances....though it has to be said it was never routinely done for flu or in fact previously for any virus within a general context.

If people are ill or showing symptoms they shouldn't be going to work or social events and that's always been common sense.

The risks of asymptomatic spread are low and outside areas like care homes or sensitive parts of hospitals the fear mongering has been ramped up far above the reasonable.

I don't disagree with anything you have said. I'm not in any way saying that I support the rules in Australia, but rules they be - and surely we have learned in this country that "one rule for them..." doesn't go down too well with the proletariat.
