Scored again yesterday, 17 goals in 21 games, 22 years old. Like Watkins, Bowen, Maupay, Armstrong etc. could be the next striker PL bound. Don't think Blackburn will sell in Jan and not a position we will be looking at I think. If he continues in same form expect a race for his signature in the summer.

Since he switched international allegiances from England to Chile he's been on fire for Blackburn (done well for La Roja too!)

If he can bag towards 30 in the championship he'd be worth a look as would fit the bit for us. Tall and strong but mobile enough to hunt for the ball.

I don't think they will want to sell, but money talks.

This is the sort of player that in a general sense I like. Price is unlikely to be ridiculous in today's market, has a very good track record in a competitive English division - this season at least - (the Championship), and success in the Championship has been a reasonable if not perfect benchmark for being able to perform in the Prem (Ollie Watkins for one comes to mind). If we offload Mateta and can bring someone like this in (a player who is bang in form to boot) then to me, it's a lower-risk/higher upside signing than a big club reserve (Nketiah, Mayoral) who has achieved less and will cost far more.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I’d much rather this fella than Nketiah any day too.

Bit surprised if true as a central midfielder seems to be by far our most urgent position. Perhaps we've a little cash to spend.

We are interested allegedly.

More likely the paragraph underneath where Sevilla, Everton, Fulham and Leeds are in the race for him.

We will still be interested in years to come and about as far as it will go most likely

Think we need to do something here, as clearly neither Eduoard or Mateta interchange is ideal and cannot see a youngster being blooded anytime soon. This guy seems to be back to good form after his injury lay off. The striker that I really would of loved to arrive via the Champs was Toney. With his ability to put in a shift, put himself about, skill and great dead ball ability he would of filled the gap that we have.

He obviously knows how to score.

I don't know why, but my gut says he's going to be one of these players that scores for fun in the championship, but cant really do it in the prem.

I haven't seen him play but if he relies on others to create his chances then he is no different to what we have already.

We don't give our strikers enough chances that is the issue.

That's the crux. Murray and Johnson managed it though.
Get in a solid creative midfield general and our scoring statistics will rapidly improve ..
