there was finney, matthews, lawton, lofthouse and manion, I think Hibs had one in the 50s, I don't know if there are any more examples (apart from Enid Blyton's) but Zaha, Gallagher, Olise, Eze and Edouard could be a contender, though it may only last till the end of this season. And I've had laptop issues and a bit of 'spiky flu' hence my absence which none of you b*stards has mentioned btw, Petereagle and Willo and everyone's sending out search parties, even Stirlingsays has more sentimental value than me.

Gerson , Tostao, Pele, Rivellino & Jairzinho come to mind.

Welcome back - hope you’re feeling better.

Same here mate, but don't let the b'stards grind you down.

That five I would love to see start, although the two wide players out of that five would have to concentrate on defensive as well as attacking duties.

It would be interesting to see If PV thinks those are a potential starting front 6 along with either Kouyate, Jimmy Mc or Luka.

Now that five were a real handful as Italy discovered in the 1970 final!

Jones, Allen, Smith, White, Dyson.

I think there was hardly a game when those five didn't line up for Spurs in their great double-winning side of 1960-61. And if you want a completely daft pub quiz question, in fact so daft that nobody would get it in a lifetime, what did the 5 forwards, 2 full backs and goalkeeper in that side have in common? They all had 5-letter names (including Henry, Baker and Brown). A bit different from the roster of strange, exotic, double-barrelled and sometimes unpronouncable names we have to grapple with nowadays. Perhaps this should appear under Nostalgia.

Cruyff, Neeskens, Rep, Rensenbrink, Van Der kerkhof

Probably responsible for my early love of football in the 1974 World Cup, then I jumped on the palace bandwagon in 1975 and that killed it

Good to see Lorimer first there - my first ever football hero.

He knew how to strike a ball, back in the day when the balls were a lot harder
