A heavy burden I have had to carry through my life.

Along with my modesty, of course.

Being good looking the pros and cons?

I have never had to worry about this?

Good looking people tend to get cut a lot more slack than the rest of us. Lots of studies show that they get better jobs / marriages etc.

I think the pros out weigh the cons.

Maybe that's why folk rarely laugh at my jokes.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Lots of people underestimate just how important this is to an otherwise average person's life chances.

Probably because our disneyfied society lies to them about it growing up....as it doesn't like what it implies about normal human nature. Beauty may be skin deep but if you look terrible few will bother to find that out and it'll affect every facet of your life.

It's an important life lesson to understand early yet few families emphasize it.....look as good as you can because it genuinely matters in face to face interactions.

All women want to know is, how big is your c0ck ?

All your boss wants to know is, have you got the balls ?

Up to what age though? 20 30 40 50 60.
I'm 54 and personally never was good looking but got on with my personality. I do think first impressions are important if that's what you mean. Once the ice is broken it is a shallow person who still feels good looking is a priority. Unless you are on the front page or modelling of course.

The age is immaterial really, though it obviously has more impact when people are younger.

Being naturally good looking is a significant advantage but even the most plain of us can look good with effort. Just turning out with effort has an impact.

As for shallowness....I'd agree with you on one level it is....but aesthetics are a part of human nature and people judge a book by its cover whether we like it or not. But I agree, it's presentation over form.

On another level it can be an indication of how much self respect someone has, because they have some care of how others view them.
