anybody seen this ? It seems to have started out with much promise, pomp, & ceremony before all degenerating into a pile of steaming cowshyte. I can see what they are trying to do. Give the Roman invasion of Britain in the narrative of the superstitious era. It was all about Roman Gods versus Celtic Gods. Zoe Wannamaker & McKenzie Crook cannot compensate for a shyte script, poxy direction and the obligatory revisionist history story. It is a Roman story which is less Lawrence Olivier and more Gary Linekar. As woke as an insomniac after a triple espresso. Even the legendary brutality of the era fails to inject any excitement into the story. The 'Barbarians' ( Germans vs Romans at the Teutoberg Forest ) series on Netflix is 100 times better. The Barbarians ( Germans vs Romans at the Teutoberg Forest ) series on Netflix is 100 times better. Any opinions ? I watched first four or five episodes of first series and thought it was awful and very weird! I’m surprised some of the good actors in it signed up to any more series.
