I can't see this happening for 2 reasons:

1. The pessimist in me says we will get will get gazumped by a bigger club.

2. It's a messy deal and we are not very good at these. He is on loan with Roma but is a Real Madrid player so either Roma cancel his deal and we negotiate with Real or Roma buy him from Real and then sell him to us.
