Great additions to the squad and great to see that Vieira intends to play on the front foot, but we still need a striker to get the 10 to 15 goals that would make such a difference to our season. Benteke and Ayew are not going to score enough. Hopefully, Zaha will continue with his current form though. He seems to be playing more as part of the team and it is working.
Let's keep the ball this season! |

I’m loving our business this window and have a growing sense of optimism that we’ve got more to come. I have a feeling we’ll bring in someone over the next couple of weeks who follows our recent model of young talent that has yet to have been given an opportunity for regular premier League football. I’d love Abraham and his recent decision to swerve an overseas move is encouraging - but I doubt we could afford him. Unless we receive a big bag of cash for Wilf. Whole different question but - losing Wilf (who has said he wants out) with 2 years left vs bringing in Abraham on a 5 year deal?

Wilf can win a game on his own. Abraham needs it served on a plate to him. No contest.

Some might argue that he hasn't been given many opportunities.Last season he only started 2 games and was sub 5 times.

I am not sure if Bats has gone to Turkey but I would try to get him in. But our need is more acute for the creator job that Townsend provided. For Palace fans the grass is always greener, this year I think it could tell on us.

100% need another striker, can't afford to put up with Bentekes posturing style of will be won't he score. He needs some serious competition to get him motivated or get rid!!

Yep, inclined to agree Pax, he needs competition. I think he sees a threat from Mateta which is why his game has gone up a notch or two. Also agree with Lanzo that we have some good youngsters coming through, but why doesn't Omilabu get a mention? He's impressed me a few times.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The U23 is big league now. Let's see how he fares against the top teams' U23s
