there are plenty of other news vampires of this ilk, feeding on the ignorance of the masses and getting irate or threatened if they happen to talk to anyone who shows genuine signs of intelligence - reminders of these would be welcome

My number one hate is Alex Scott for exactly the same reason as Digby Jones. She may be intelligent as well as pretty but I can't stand her speaking voice and switch off if she's on.

She claims that she speaks that way because she's working class which is the biggest load of testicles that I've heard for a long time

O’Brien and Ferrari both have special “concerned” voices they use to patronise callers they deem worthy of their compassion. O’Brien wins because of his lordly and sneering manner with callers who are less articulate / radio savvy.
