Was at Palace as a youngster, this is one guy who just couldn't help but destroy his career, very interesting read.

Watch this to gauge an opinion.

I find him not necessarily unlikeable, but incredibly frustrating and incapable of avoiding trouble. He has zero professionalism and clearly has had no positive male role models. He just doesn't get it.

Thankfully his mum made him put aside a load of the money from his Newcastle contract.

What a thoroughly repulsive individual.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Exactly being poor is not an excuse for criminality but I can see how someone who has little would be tempted to go for easy money down that route.

Ranger however was earning more than most and yet he still couldn't keep his hands out of the cookie jar.

A rather unsavoury individual who played in the PL for Newcastle.

can't see how his next 'chance' would be treated any differently. He's shown that he's a repeat offender and can't help himself. Surprised someone did't get him a shrink at an early age to unpick the issues behind the behaviour and deal with them.

He’s a player who, including sub appearances, has averaged 1 goal every 6 games. For Newcastle he appeared in 51 games (5 starts 46 sub) and scored 2 goals. He’s not that good.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The guys was a lost caused before he was an adult.

No father figure mentioned anywhere and the only male role model was his cousin who spent his lunch money in a bookies.

He seemed to respond well under the guidance of a strict landlord called Glenn that was briefly mentioned but a prick at every other opportunity.

A feral child who has dodged accountability all his adult life.

There should have been more of a greater intervention at a young age. The mother seemed to be giving it her best but out of her depth.

At least he is up front and honest. He's not blaming any of his issues on other people. Which is almost refreshing.

Maybe he can turn this tale into something to keep other youngsters on the straight and narrow.
