It's a no from me!

We can't afford to pay the wages of first team squad players from the likes of Chelsea, Man U, Citeh etc. We will be fishing in a cheaper pool.

As for Barkley, no in any case because he's too injury prone and we have enough of those types of player already.

For the kind of money you'd have to pay in fee and wages, you'd really need to be able to build a team around him. But as said above, he's too injury prone and, I would say, inconsistent, to do so. Some games he pulls the strings, but a few times I've seen him against Palace he's been anonymous.

He would make a great Tik Tok partner for Wickham as they practise there dances in the physio room
