Ollie Robinson cleared to play cricket again after his cock up years ago. Sense has at last prevailed.

Agree, though not entirely sensible as he was given a £3200 fine, and presumably lost match fees during his unwarranted suspension.

I'd argue what happened to him shows cancel culture is alive and well and is firmly ingrained. 'Cancel culture' won't go until those that enact it view it as more costly to 'cancel' than to not.

Robinson is one of the best English seam bowlers and was the best bowler in that test, so we will see how the ECB view him when the next test team is selected....I think the next test is in August (which is ridiculous).

The ECB are very woke, as is Root.....then again, their decision was criticised by government and that will have hurt them considerably, as if they are seen as at odds with the government then that affects the game in multiple ways when decisions are made that affect it.....that is their cost.

We will see.....but I don't view the ECB as good guardians of the game.

Good to see the ECB action and hoping to see OR in action again soon.

Even better to see the ECB taking no notice of Johnsons interference and administering this matter fairly and equably.

Sense has indeed prevailed at last. But I maintain it was wrong for him to be punished in the first place.

I'm afraid that cancel culture is still alive and thriving.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Highly unlikely.

If OR had told them to go and f*** themselves and refused to pay any fine and then had been allowed to play again, I might agree but as it is, no.

Maybe not using that strong a language but I would have respected that far more than the groveling that he did.

What he did as a teenager was immaturity, but what the ECB did was politics.

2 years ago it would probably have ended his career.
That was my point. Many have literally had their futures ripped away by rumours let alone tweets.

If that were the case he wouldn't ever be considered again.
