Whyteleafe look to be losing their home and have withdrawn from the Isthmian League.

"It is with deep regret and sadness that we informed the Isthmian League earlier today that Whyteleafe FC will not be playing in next season’s Isthmian South Central League."

"Singapore based PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT company Irama – the new landlords - activated a break clause to terminate the club’s lease on July 31st this year." Wonder what the plan is for the land??

Whyteleafe Eagle used to be a regular. Terrible news. I hope they can find something.

I read on Hol that Steven Gerrard was buying possibly the training area next to it for an academy. Maybe he’ll want the lot. If not, it’ll be homes. Worth millions.

An update from a Whyteleafe supporters site.

"Brief(ish) update: there's an awful lot of social media noise relating to us, to Abingdon Town, to Irama and to Ian Rush.
Former Liverpool players Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher have, via Twitter, distanced themselves from Irama having previously (along with many other big name footballers) extolled the virtues of Irama on YouTube.
Mr Rush responded initially on Sky Sports rather blandly saying the truth will out, and then by Twitter in response to queries saying the police will somehow be involved! Quite who they would be investigating he did not make clear.
As far as 1st team football at Church Road is concerned, we are hopeful that something positive will happen as a phoenix club if not for 2021/22 then 2022/23. Hopefully the former but time is against us.
The Isthmian League for their part have stated that they will keep a Step 4 place open for Whyteleafe all the time there is a glimmer of hope (my words not theirs). I believe they have more knowledge of what's going on than we do. Any phoenix club would have to find a place lower in the pyramid.
Any club would need to be comfortable negotiating with Irama in order to use Church Road facilities.
Reminder: this is a supporter-run Facebook account and is no way connected to any current officials of Whyteleafe FC."

Shame, I’ve seen them lock horns with Bromley many times back in the day, and my local team now Sittingbourne FC. Nice little ground for that level when I went there

Would be sad to see them go. I remember watching them in the FA Cup first round in about 2000 vs Chester City who at the time were in division 3. Missed a late penalty to win in at lost the replay 3-1.

Have also watched them against a Palace 21 in the past. Hope a solution is found

I recall in bygone days Whyteleafe playing pre-season friendlies against Birmingham. The connection was David Gold who was patron of Whyteleafe and also co-owner of Birmingham.

The company who purchased the ground have purchased several other grounds and also say they are looking to purchase a further 8.

They have obviously recognised that the land value is worth more if the club are evicted.

Whilst legal, it’s still pretty disgusting and I hope the FA are able to get involved.
