I’m not quite sure what for. I realise it’s a contentious thing to say but when the highlight of your career is getting knocked out of a major championship by Iceland then maybe I’m in the wrong profession for picking up a gong myself.

Lovely chap but not 100% sure what he has done to deserve it.

Don’t be a prick, 45 years in management, so many achievements. Show some respect.

How eloquent. I spent 35 years supporting charities but didn’t get a gong. What’s your point?

Perhaps nobody thought you were worth nominating for an honour

Good for you, bitter much? I’m sure Roy has done his bit for charity.

I'd imagine his point is that the Iceland game is the one game that everyone uses as justification to dismiss his achievements. Oh, and putting Kane on corners too I suppose. Not too bad a record really.

And I'd imagine he has done far more for charity than you ever would, as well as paying more in tax than you'll ever earn.

But don't let that get in the way of your hatred of him.

You obviously imagine a lot from your post and have no idea how much I have earned or how I lived my life having retired at 45, but you do seem very happy to keep your love in with Roy despite the fact he has gone now. I don’t hate Roy, just never liked his tactics whether it was England or Palace.

Likewise you have no idea how Hodgson has lived his life, but in your opinion, he doesn't deserve any reward for what he has done, as he presided over a team that lost to Iceland. Pathetic.

I admire what he has done during his football management career and congratulate him on his award.

Do you think you need a CBE as you retired early?

I wasn’t his biggest fan over the last year or so but will probably live to regret it.
He had a fantastic career and won many honours. What he did with Fulham was remarkable and to judge him by what he did with England based on the Iceland game or the toxic atmosphere created by Liverpool fans is pathetic and seems bitter.

Your absolutely right about the Iceland game. It really overshadows his complete failure in 2014.
