...and I know it is just a bit of fun, but... Please do not post suggestions of players who you have just seen performing well at the Euros. The club will have scoured the world and done serious, long term due diligence on any player who we feel might fill a gap, suit the team and provide best value. Dougie doesn't sit with a 4-pack watching the game thinking - he's the one, where's his agent's number? Either the player is not on our radar as he has no pedigree, or he has good pedigree. If the latter, he may have peaked for the tournament and thrives within his national team; but he could well be another tournament wonder who fails to deliver at league level - Brolin? If the former, he was out of our price range before the tournament, what price now he has shone on the biggest stage?

Nice try Silvertop, but regret, there are too many 'experts' on here who think they understand this scouting business better than the professionals. And every other aspect of the game. I'll wager it won't be long before the suggestions appear about the fantastic left back who doubles as an attacking winger and is available from a Danish club we've never heard of for less than the price of a pint of Carlsberg - probably. Like you say, just have a chuckle at their expense and enjoy the football.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

“Dougie doesn't sit with a 4-pack watching the game thinking - he's the one, where's his agent's number?” Perhaps he should. Might unearth a few bargains instead of paying over the top prices for same old, same old Premiership retreads.

Considering the poultry amount spent on them. That is also disregarding the fact you can't force the cream of the crop to come to Palace. I know it seems to be a hard thing to fathom but I'll hazard a strong guess that buying players isn't as easy as Football Manager games.

A fowl business, we should duck out and hatch a better plan. What’s sauce for the goose.
