First let me say I know next to nothing about this cricketer - next to nothing about cricket in fact.

But this business of things that were said and done by folk in their teenage years now being brought to light and used to beat them over the head is surely wrong. There have been similar cases in the past and people made to grovel and apologize for things (usually Tweets these days) they did in a high spirited moment causes much undue grief.

Not saying what Ollie did was right, but we all did things in our youth that we'd be ashamed of now if it was identified. I certainly did. Part of growing up.

Just don't think he should be put through the mill like he (and others have) has been.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Shame on you. Us oldies were brought up in an era of football in Winter and Cricket in summer.

I wonder who it is that goes through peoples' Tweets from 8 or more years ago with a fine tooth comb in order to find dirt.

Do they feel fulfilment when that eureka moment arrives and they come up with something? How sad

Hear, hear! Although at my school it was rugby for the autumn term, football for the spring term and cricket for the summer term.

The ECB are very woke but Robinson is so obviously one of the top bowling talents in the country.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

It's from years ago. I don't think they can really sanction him. Instead, I predict an education course.

He will be cancelled and his club will dump him. Career over I reckon.
Cannot upset the woke minority who take great joy in destroying people. Sad c***s

He was 18 at the time and had his contract terminated by Yorkshire. Old enough to act responsibly. Made me laugh listening to his prepared statement.would have gone down better if he could have sounded sincere.

I said to Mrs YT, "Mrs YT, can you imagine Mike Brearley or Alistair Cook (etc) reading out such a statement in such a pathetic fashion, unable to string two words together? What on Earth has happened to cricket?"

She replied,"Unfortunately it's become like football; played by yobs like that ginger-haired thug".

Sorry to let the side down chaps. Just couldn't get on with a game that lasted 5 days and then, possibly, ended in a draw.

Although one of my junior school reports did have a comment along the lines "Would make a good cricketer". I think that put me off. Ever the rebel.

Preferred to spend the summer at Purley Way open air pool and Brands Hatch.

Yes, remember the purley way pool well, the diving board and hot summers, well, maybe just the hot summers.
