It’s been reported that Spurs want to sign Wilf for 40 million while Everton are said to be interested again. Wilf thinks he has something to offer bigger clubs and wants to win things. He has 2 years left on his contract, so if we’re to make any money now is the time. Would he settle for Spurs or Everton given they are unlikely to win anything anytime soon? I doubt any of the top teams in the PL would want him. Arsenal spent big on Pepe rather than Zaha and the game against Arsenal showed why. He had a dodgy start to his Arsenal career but stuck with it and plays with a smile on his face. Can’t say the same for Wilf unfortunately. He needs a fresh start and we need the cash to help the rebuild.

IMHO if we can get £40m then we should let Wilf go. If he stays he will only become more morose and we'll get diminishing returns from him and nothing when his contract finally runs out. PS shouldn't this be on the the Palace Talk board? This one is for possible incoming players. Edited by doombear (25 May 2021 1.39pm)

Go! New manager, implementing their own style, fresh players and less emphasis/reliance on the whingeing crybaby who has lost his pace and is past his best.

Zero chance 40 for Wilf in today’s climate .. 25 tops and he would need to take a pay cut 130k a week zero chance. Needs to wake up and smell the coffee .. he’s a big fish in a small pond .. but hey 40 mill SP would snap their hands off.

IMO we should sell Wilf to the highest bidder this summer. He has earned his move and honestly, I'm interested to see how he will do when he isn't being man-marked and fouled 24/7

What if the highest bidder was say 15m? I’d say there would be a strong chance of relegation without Wilf. Am fine to sell him if he wants to go but has to be for a damn good price as he’s too valuable to us. Let’s also not forget that Man U are due I think 20% of anything we sell for. Does not leave much if sell for 40m.

Also was their a time limit regarding the sell-on fee and if so, has it passed?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
