Promoted to the football league today. Quite the achievement.

Congrats to Sutton, watched the game, to say are physical is putting it mildly, fair play to them.

Big congrats. A huge achievement. Hope I didn't get a glimpse of the future at the weekend though when watching Lincoln beat Sunderland in the play off semi. Commentator said that 5 years ago Sunderland were in the Premier League and Lincoln were non league. What odds that 10 years from now we'll be hearing "We're Sutton United, South London is ours"?!
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

Warmest congratulations to Sutton Utd. Co-commentator Efan Ekoku started his senior career at Sutton Utd before leaving for Bournemouth. I have visited their ground a few times, the last time many years ago. Edited by Willo (24 May 2021 10.31am)

I watched Sutton yesterday as well. Not high quality football, but a good, competitive, old fashioned, rough and tumble game that makes you realise that a game of football doesn't have to be played at the highest level to be fun and exciting to watch. Seeing the enjoyment on their fans faces told the story.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |
