Absolutely awful news. This has just made the difficult summer near impossible. Achilles is such a nasty injury. Really hope he has a good recovery. What a bad end to such a positive first season for him.

He was magical against Villa. Poor sod. At least-- for him and us-- it's happened now when there's nothing to play for and summer is coming. A ruptured Achilles would be 8-12 weeks of repair time (source Bupa website) and you can basically double that for the rehab (my guess). So 4-6 months if it's as bad as suggested.

Speaking from experience if he ruptured his acchilies he and medics would have known straightaway.And if he has 4 months at least.
