Watched his documentary last night.

A true legend at CPFC.

We should be very proud of him.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

I know a lot of Palace fans don't like him so much because of his move to Arsenal and things that happened but he made his name with us and he seems like pretty good fella. I still have a lot of respect and admiration for him and to think he spent a lot of his first years in football here and made his name here first is something good for Palace.

This video taken from his show on Desert Island Discs says a lot about him:

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

Him and Brighty were pure class in Palace's greatest times.
I lived on the Honor Oak Estate same time as him and Dave Rocastle.
Rocastle was a Palace fan as a kid in Brockley so we were unlucky not to nab him as a kid.
Later days I used to have a booze with Wright's Uncle Bill most weekends and trust me he had a very very rough childhood from things I heard.
The bloke will forever be a Crystal Palace FC legend to me.

Sorry to be a bit pedantic my good man but I frequented a club in Brockley long before Wright signed for Arsenal and it was a regular chant on the premises just to wind up the Millwall fraternity.

A touch of class from our hayday. Like you say, some don't like him but there's little point in holding an eternal grudge. I'll check out the doc.
