Followed by the sound of English bowmen stringing their bows and fletching their arrows. They'll be good too, as they all took part in a re-enactment of Agincourt for the 600th anniversary. A stairway to Heaven and a Highway to Hell give some indication of expected traffic numbers

For a bit of balance for everyone, I always thought Agincourt a great story. Backs against the wall (trousers literally full of sh1t), with dysentery, against the cream of France. I've never particularly studied it, but we usually miss out the bit where the prisoners were massacred. A bit of a shame. I'm not woke or saying everyone should feel guilty etc. But the French might well have a different version of the battle in their history. I'm sure you can imagine. Red and Blue Army!

For a bit of balance for everyone, I always thought Agincourt a great story. Backs against the wall (trousers literally full of sh1t), with dysentery, against the cream of France.

I bet Agincourt gets tons more coverage than Bannockburn in English schools ? i bet French schools bang on about Martel at Tours a lot, and not so much about Waterloo ? i bet French schools bang on about Martel at Tours a lot, and not so much about Waterloo ?

It's a good point but makes me wonder about German history. In France Waterloo doesn't exist - it's the Battle of St Jean or something like that.
