Civil servant advised Greensill while working in Whitehall, says watchdog.

Bill Crothers became a director of finance firm months after leaving civil service, records show.

This didn't look like much but Cameron was very self-satisfied as ever but it just didn't convince.

A juicy financial scandal involving the tories is always enjoyable to the viewer.

Cameron is definitely in play here. With one Mr Sunak suddenly off the radar as well.

Possibly, and I accept that I can see shadows where none exist, it's part of a wider move to do the Chancellors legs.

They might be deflecting the storm, a common tactic, before it s perched firmly over Downing street, the member for medway doesn"t have to be told this.

The greed in these people is akin to a junkie needing a fix, Cameron gets around $100 k for doing an after dinner hour long speech, but he wants more, nothing will become of this , just an apology for not doing things differently and move on.

You could be right there, the chancellor is worth £2 billion, he"s not interested in the money, but to be PM?, that is something to look back on in life!I feel sorry for his schoolmates at the school reunion, "hows it going richi?" "Not bad mate, £2billion in the bank and chancellor, might as well have a bash at PM.!And yourself ? yourself? -where did they go?"

There is always tension between numbers 10 & 11, with (ironically) the exception to the rule being Cameron and Osborne who were as thick as thieves.

And the Treasury is a department that nobody outside it has many fond feelings for so anything is possible.

At this level of politics, for those still in office then it's never really about money, at least there and then. The venal circuit of speeches and consultancies after they leave office, that's a different matter but none of them are trousering brown envelopes whilst actually in situ. And none of them would fall on any swords to secure those. Plenty of contenders for their services.

But there is constant manoeuvring for a shot at the top office and they play dirty. Patel has apparently made it quite clear that she ain't being moved from the Home Office without a real fight and there are plenty of other murkey types circling, not least Gove.

This Cameron malarky is pretty tacky, when all is said and done but I suspect that it is more harmful to some of the Pretenders to the Crown rather than Johnson.

Probably right mate, someones head might roll, probably the junior in the office, a token gesture to others to tighten up their defence if they want to play underhand tactics.

Ran off after the Brexit vote like a naughty schoolboy, but doesn't mind lingering around behind the scenes when it fills the right coffers.

We all know this stinks and nothing will happen other than Cameron was with in the rules but not the "spirit" and he will make an apology
