The Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities have issued a report that has concluded that the UK is not yet a "post-racial country" - but its success in removing race-based disparity in education and, to a lesser extent, the economy, "should be regarded as a model for other white-majority countries". In his foreword to the report chairman Tony Sewell, an education consultant and ex-charity boss, said while the "impediments and disparities do exist", it continued, they were "varied and ironically very few of them are directly to do with racism".
Cause for celebration you would think. But no, Sit Keir Starmer, leader of what passes as the labour Party these days is “disappointed” by the report – presumably he hoped that rampant racism would be found.
The GMB union’s National Officer, Rehana Azam, went further saying it "feels like a deeply cynical report". She said it was "completely irresponsible and immoral" – I wonder what her criteria for morality is?
Then, the ‘impartial’ BBC headlines “Race report risks deepening distrust and division” – I would suggest that it is the BBC and the other critics of the report that are causing division.

After Corbyn's comments that the EHRC report was exaggerated, they don't really want to be kicking this hornet's nest.

Back to the interesting points.

- wealth is more of an issue than race.
- proper career guidance is needed for those from poorer backgrounds (but you always have to question the life choices of careers advisors)
- BAME shouldn't be used because not all ethnicities face the same challenges.

This is spot on.

Race division and commenting on race has become a massive industry with many people making very good living from being divisive.

The BBC does not care as long as they continue to have heads in the tax trough promoting an agenda which is contrary to the Charter.

The high level view of the report seems to be that the UK is not systemically racist .

It rightly says racist people exist, as in ,I would suggest , every country in the world.

The report will be rejected by everyone promoting a systemic racism agenda, as are all reports where one side doesn't get what they want. The Sturgeon SNP rejection of the Salmond inquiry same, the Corbynista rejection of the anti semitism report the same etc etc.

The spin from the divisive race identity politics industry will be if you accept the report you are therefore racist.

I agree BAME is term that should be discontinued.

It is a woke way of saying non white. Does anyone really think that people Chinese, West Indian, African, Indian and pakistani heritage have a one size fits all set of issues.

The very idea of seeking to employ people based on race is by definition a racist practice.

At least the report may facilitate more debate

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Black people need to stop blaming the rest of society for the educational failures of young black men. When will someone from that community be brave enough to start to question why this happens.

One more point

If that is the Pimlico school I think it is then it has a decades long reputation for Left-Wing c***ishness. First came across when a girl I went to primary school with went there, instead of the local comprehensive, due to it having a special admissions policy for children with musical talent. And given her mum was a full leftie-labour councillor leading the charge for the rest of us to be dumped in local comps, the perfect example of the kind of hypocrisy that makes me loath the Left with the passion I do.
