OK, the showroom's open. Money's no object. What car would you choose for your bright, air-conditioned garage? Needn't necessarily be a road car, could be your dream racer, rally or custom car. No limits. I started this because I've just been reading something about the Aston Martin Valkyrie. A cool 3 million quids worth of elegant, very fast hypercar. Unfortunately they are only making 150 so I might be too late. So, that's me done. What about you?
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Delorean-the one that actually works, go back in time and change history- go forward in time, do some research, come back to today and play the stock market- simples!

Aston Martin DB9. For some reason, I just think it's beautiful. I'm sure there are plenty of better and more expensive cars. In my youth I always wanted a WW2 Jeep but never got one. Did have an Ford XR3i and Cavalier SRi though. The Cavalier was miles faster, just for the record.

For fun a Porsche Cayman. For comfort a Lexus or Merc don't care really. That'd do me just fine.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

A Challenger 2 tank. I could destroy the Amex from Lewes in a question of 2 minutes; wouldn't even have to go to Brighton. I would also blast the Goldstone Retail Park just for the sake of it.
Mine's a light and bitter. |

For years I always wanted an Alfa of some kind. My father had a black GTV sports hatch in the late 70's and brown turbo Bell & Colville upgrade one in the early 80's. I'm not a classic enthusiast. Don't want to get my hands dirty! And I don't much like the current batch of Guilias and Guiliettas. The Brera was an attractive car. But there's one car I'm more likely to get just for sheer fun.

In the mid eighties I was living in Newcastle and bought a 1966 Alfa Spyder which had been rebuilt from the ground up and had great fun in it for three years until I sold it for twice what I paid for it. It was your mention of Bell & Colville that reminded me as i used to Know John Colville so I sent the car down to him from the North East to sell. In my younger days I used to dream of owning a 1972 Ferrari Dino and it's still the car that I would buy if I won the lottery

There were some issues around build quality especially in the Leyland years which accelerated the demise of the UK car industry but they did make some great looking cars.
