A real inspiration in these dark times. His passing is going to sadden a lot of people. I imagine it will be a very quiet family funeral but hopefully there will be a huge memorial service when we get back to some sort of new normal.

We could all learn a lot from his bearing and example.

RIP Captain Sir Tom.

Well, that bucket list item went well then. Visit Barbados before you die.

This is actually rather poignant, symbolic of what has been happening recently. I am sure he will be remembered fondly and as an icon of the crisis spirit.

Weird priority set with his medication but at that age perhaps it doesn't take much....shame he couldn't take a few thousands and spend winter somewhere warm.

Seemed like a good guy who had an astounding last year of life.

Upsetting news. Such a charitable and optimistic soul, with a mischievous sense of humour to boot. And all of that at 100 years of age. We can all learn something from his approach to life. RIP Tom.

Horrible news. A true inspiration. I hope that this sends out some sort of perspective on this horrible virus and gives our government a kick up the arse to rid us of it.

RIP
