'Much Biden in the Marsh'. Basically an elderly OAP sits at his desk issuing executive orders overriding everything and declaring that democracy has prevailed. The US just has to hope he is not another loony or senile but there is no guarantee in a system that gives unlimited powers to one individual. Wish him luck anyway he seems to be making all the right noises.

In all seriousness though it was refreshing to hear a US president talk of unity yesterday rather than deliberately stoking division. Hopefully it won't just be lip service. He has a big job on his hands. Hopefully it will stop our politicians over here copying the Trump playbook of 'alternative facts'/lying through your teeth and then doubling down when held to account on it. One can but hope.

It is exhausting all this hating the other side isn't it. Brexit exacerbated it over here and Trump has in the US over the last 4 years. It never used to be like this did it?
