I have felt for some time this is what we are lacking, a real box to box midfielder. We can defend well usually, we can even attack well but it is the link up play that is severely lacking. With that in mind please go for a player called Moises Caicedo, Man Utd were interested now it appears Brighton are sniffing around. He is exactly the type of player we need and for about 5 million. Remember how poor Leicester were before they injected a few quality players that linked everything together. Ironically he is being dubbed the new Kante.

Was waiting for someone to get jealous over Brighton's new signing on here as soon as it had been announced

Brighton’s transfer policy is way better than ours. Hate to say it but it’s true.

Not jealous one little bit, I find it funny that they have spent 125 million more than us in the last 3 years and on what? It’s just this sort of player could transform us.

Nah, they have a policy of spending money, we don’t. One marquee signing every 3 years doesn’t really cut it for me, tight wads.

This is a bit of myth that Brighton have a great transfer policy they have one of the largest net transfer spends in world football and for every Lampety they sign six Bernardo's or Dan Burns , ok players but not ones you would be fighting for most of there signings have looked good in Belguim or Holland but have been unable to make the step up.I would take Bissouma and Lamptey with jury out on Propper and White.
They do look like they have some interesting young players and Potter has given youth it's chance but to be honest Connolly has been given 35 games at 20 years old and if they can't displace him they are probably not that good either.

I don't think it is.

They have just spent way more than we have in the last 3 years.

And they have wasted money, around £40m, on a number of forwards which they now want to move on but will not recoup their outlay or anything near it.

It is very much the case that when we try to compare ourselves to other clubs in transfers, it is a case of we have a stinted view as we know ours very well but other clubs not so well. Yes there will be clubs that do better and they get bought into the argument but likewise, when that is done the clubs that have done worse get left off.

OK this is only for this season but it is notable that we are in the green at +4 higher than Brighton, who in fairness are also in the green at +1.

Crude yes, but as an impartial statistic it is there.
